tiscreport data is starting to become very useful!

The tiscreport open data register now allows anyone from anywhere the ability to check organisations for whether or not they need to comply. There are an estimated 17000 organisations who should fall into the threshold stated in the Modern Slavery Act.  The tiscreport team is busy beavering away on the data to make sure that all members of the public and corporate members can use it to increase the effectiveness of their own efforts to end slavery in their supply chains. So far the system has uncovered just over 12000 organisations who should be reporting this year. This number is increasing daily. The 6707 companies with statements in tiscreport are the ones that have been checked by hand, but there are far more in the backlog.

Says Jaya Chakrabarti, CEO of tiscreport, "This is hugely exciting because this added visibility shines a light on some very large organisations who can make a difference within their supply chains, and we now know who many of them are. It makes our registry instantly useful to anyone working to end modern slavery in supply chains and we would like to invite even more of those activists, from NGOs to members of the public, to make use of our open data. We started out as a pilot light, and we've evolved into a searchlight. Our aim is to go full-beam on transparency before this financial year is out. Thanks to our growing network of global partners we are making huge progress far more quickly than we'd envisaged. We want to work with everyone and anyone committed to the same mission."

Stuart Gallemore, CTO says of the technology driving the tiscreport engine, "As someone with their head in the data and the technology, it's fantastic to see that all our hard work with data analytics and categorising is starting to make a difference to the real world. Our members have been using their dashboard tools to help them with their compliance, and are making some very insightful requests for added functionality. Not only does this keep our team on its toes, it means we're becoming increasingly more relevant as a tool in making modern slavery act compliance part of good business hygiene."
